The Dangerous effects of Being Addicted to Energy Drink

Many people believe that by drinking energy drink they can increase their spirit and their strength. Because of the use of energy drink, many people being addicted to energy drink. They do not know and do not care the dangerous effect of it, whereas energy drink contains of some dangerous materials that are not good for their body.
In the package of energy drink, it is stated that energy drink can help us to maintain our health, make our body fresh, and help metabolism. Although the manufacturers claim that it can improve your endurance and performance, many health experts disagree. Any boost you get from drinking them, they say, is solely from the sugar and caffeine and it is just for short time.
Generally, energy drink contains of vitamin, mineral, amino acid, and the other substance. It also contains of HFSC (high-fructose corn syrup). HFSC is one of substance that does not have any use but making food or drink sweet. It is low-calorie but high-fat. By consuming too much energy drink that contains HFSC, we will be at risk of becoming overweight, which can lead to health risks such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart disease. Another effect of consuming too much HFSC is elevated insulin levels. Not only can lead to diabetes, but it can also raise risk of developing arthritis. It also can elevate our insulin to dangerous level.
The other substance is caffeine. Caffeine is common in coffee and soft drinks, but it is found in energy drinks even at high levels. Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system and giving a feeling of alertness. Consuming too much caffeine can cause moderate and severe effects, such as an increased heart rate and blood flow, headaches, panic, prolonged depression, nausea, a jittery feeling, allergic reactions (rash. Hives, itching, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, swelling of the mouth, lips, face, or tongue, diarrhea, shakiness, trouble sleeping), irritability and sleeplessness.
Besides caffeine, acid amino is common in energy drink. Generally, it is added taurine, inositol, L-theanine, and another amino acid. Amino acid is added to help the metabolism, and our body use amino acid to make an enzyme and another protein. One of kinds of amino acid is L-Theanine. It does not cause adverse effect, but some have reported feeling light-headed when consuming a dose of more than 300mg of L-theanine. Not only L-Theanine, but taurine also is not very useful for our body. Natural Taurine is actually beneficial for the body and can be found in cow’s milk, meat, fish and eggs and for vegetarians it can be found in seaweed. The daily dose of Taurine should be no higher than 500mg. If we consume too much taurine, it can give sedative or anesthetic influences on the brain. Taurine also cause an unstable heart rate.
Energy drink also contains of vitamins and minerals. Vitamin is an important organic substance for growth and regulation of body function. Unlike protein, fat, and carbohydrate, vitamin is no-calorie. Even so vitamin is needed for our metabolism. Vitamin that is in energy drink is Vitamin B. Vitamin B is not useful for our body vitamin, because it is only useful if it is supported by the other vitamins and the other substances in our body, but we can not consume it too much. Consuming vitamin B3 more than 35mg of Niacin can cause flushing of the skin and intake of 3000mg or more can result in liver toxicity. Consuming more than 100mg of B6 can cause sensory nerve problems (burning sensation) or skin lesions. For vitamin B12, if we consume it too much and regularly, it can cause interference to the nerve system.
Ginseng is an herb which increases the energy levels in the human body. It has anti-fatigue components that help to reduce stress. Ginseng is said to stimulate the nervous system to increase the overall stamina of the body and increase the secretion of hormones in the body. There are some adverse side-effects of Ginseng on the human body. These effects are headache and diarrhea which are likely to happen if Ginseng is consumed along with caffeine.
Many people mix energy drinks with vodka or other alcohol to make a high-energy cocktail. Since alcohol is a depressant, it has a tranquilizing effect on the body that can make you unaware of how much you're drinking. One study found that men who combined energy drinks with alcohol felt alert and sober, even though they were actually drunk and since both alcohol and energy drinks dehydrate you, when combined they can cause your body's fluids to drop to dangerous levels. In 1991, two people in Sweden who drank alcohol with an energy drink reportedly died of dehydration, although it was never conclusively proved that the energy drink led to their deaths.
Other ingredients can also be problematic. For example, the stimulant ephedrine, an ingredient in many decongestants, can cause heart problems. In 2001, two California high school students fainted after ingesting energy drinks containing ephedrine. Many health experts also advise pregnant women and young children to avoid them.
Drinking an energy drink more than one while you're exercising can be particularly dangerous. The combination of the diuretic effect and sweating can severely dehydrate you, because they contain caffeine that can cause kidney work more in removing body fluids.
I recommend that you avoid energy drinks. Treat them like soft drinks, or even worse. The lofty claims on these drinks for instant vitality are simply outrageous. A good, varied diet of whole organic live foods gives you all the Taurine you need, without the highs and lows of energy drinks.
Make sure you exercise and get enough sleep, and remember, medicine and illness can zap your energy. Stay properly hydrated with lots of purified water, especially when you’re exercising hard or you’re stressed. It’s a good idea to drink lots of water regardless.
Take a pass on the “crash and burn” high from caffeine and sugar – and taurine. The ingredients of these drinks, both mysterious and some not too mysterious, are a recipe for disaster. They may “give you wings,” but you’ll soon come tumbling down – and in the long run, crash really hard.
